Individual arrivals from abroad into Manaus. Meet & Greet and transfer to a 4* Hotel in Manaus. Check In and introduction to the expedition team and the program. Welcome Dinner.
Domestic flight from Manaus to Tabatinga and transfer to the vessel, our home for the next days. Longboat tour to the Colombian town of Leticia. Good Indio handcraft shopping opportunities: blowguns, ceremonial masks, bows and arrows and tapa cloths, necklaces, silver jewelry from Peru and emeralds from Colombia. In Leticia all currency is accepted. On the way back to our ship visit of the village of Santa Rosa in Peru. Welcome drink in a typical bar built in a Ceiba tree.
Dinner on board while starting our cruise down the mighty Amazon.
Explore the Takana River and first contact with the Tikuna Indians. Guided hike by two young Tikuna men into this pristine forest to a clear water river which is a very good place for birds, monkeys butterflies and a fantastic forest.
Visit Indio tribes who live deep in the forest with little contact with white men.
Visit of the Tikuna village of Vendaval. Shopping opportunities for indio handicrafts: masks, necklaces, beautiful wood carvings.
Introduction to the Indio culture.
Sightseeing at Lago São Paulo exploring for birds, beautiful penetration in the igarapés, with a lake.
Sunset tours on the longboats to watch the nocturnal life: alligators, snakes, sloths and birds.
Visit the old missionary town of São Cristovão do Amatura and the Amatura Lake for swiming and fishing. This is a Lake with very clear water and beautiful sand banks. It is also a Tikuna Indio area.
Contact with local caboclos and morning visit of the old town of Tonantins.
Afternoon ship passage down river. Time to enjoy the scenery and recap the past days.
We are the mouth of the Jutai Rives. Visit of the town of Foz de Jutai at the mouth of the Jutai River. This place is one of the richest areas in Amazon wildlife: sloths, monkeys, caymans and a great variety of birds.
Arrival to Campina, twenty miles upstream from the town of Fonte Boa. This is a savannah like area with opportunity to see many many birds.
Opportunity for piranha fishing.
Mouth of the Rives Juruá. We reserve this day to explore, fish, and contact with the people in this beautiful area.
Morning arrival to Tefé, the old village of Ega, where the very famous naturalist, Bates, lived for many years, a hundred and fifty years ago and described this area so well. Visit of the local market and exploration of the surroundings. Good spot for wildlife sightings, such as sloths and monkeys.
Visit the town of Coari, our captain ́s birthplace and busy harbor on the upper Amazon. Explore the city and time for a nice refreshing bath at Jurupari Beach.
Exploration of the Bedajos River. This is a place with the largest number of rubber trees. Visit a rubber tree plantation and learn the process of rubber making.
Stop at the village of Anori, known for the beautiful water lilies and other aquatic plants. Visit the floating town of Anamã.
Cruise through the wedding of the waters, where the Amazon River meets the Rio Negro. Visit the capital of Amazonia, Manaus, including the market, the Opera house and Museum of Natural history.
Evening cruise up the Rio Negro.
Birding tour at the small river of Pagodao and refreshing swim in the safe waters of the Rio Negro.
Look out for dolphins, the Rio Negro give quite good opportunities to see them. Cruise into Rio Cuieras to observe another kind of forest, the campinha, with scrubby trees, terrestrial orchids and bromelias, and lichens growing on the white sand.
Enjoy a special arranged BBQ on one of the sandy beaches by a large firelight. This night you may choose sleeping in a typical hammock in a covered shelter on shore.
Spend two days in the hundred island district of Anavilhanas, one of the largest fluvial archipelagos in the world. The area is known for the abundance of birds such as toucans, parrots and macaws.
Longboat rides among the islands for birdwatching. Evening canoe explorations allows us to seek nocturnal life.
Visit of Novo Airao, the town where Gaiolas (the typical Amazon ships) are being built.
Visit the rubber tree museum Serengau Villa Paraiso where we will be able to get a glimpse into the life of the rubber barons in the 19th century and the Aldeia Tupé, home of the Dessana tribe indigenous Indians. Traditional dance performance.
Farewell dinner in a very typical Brazilian Restaurant in Manaus.
After breakfast disembarkation of the ship and transfer to the airport of Manaus.
End of program.

Facilities on board:
BRIDGE: You are welcome to visit the bridge at anytime unless notified otherwise. You might even be offered to steer the vessel for a while…!
CABINS: There are twelve cosy, outside facing cabins each with a large window. The beds are bunk beds, with the lower bunk in some cabins being a double. All cabins are air-conditioned and have a private bathroom with a hair dryer.
DAILY PROGRAM/ LANDINGS: Information about daytime activities and general information will be discussed during our recap on the sun deck. It will
also be written on the “white board” and changes will be announced. There will be some lovely walks through small villages and in the jungle.
DINING & BAR: All meals are served in the Rainbow Restaurant or on the Sun Deck. There is a bar on board with a selection of spirits, wines and local beer.
INTERNET/WIFI/TELEPHONE: The vessel does not have Internet or WIFI facilities. GSM network connection is good in most areas of the Rio Solimões.
Once on the Rio Negro, there is almost no telephone connection. The only phone connection is in the city of Novo Airao. Please inform your friends and family.
LAUNDRY: There is a free laundry service on board.
LIBRARY: The on board library has a small selection of guides, picture books and reference books.
MEALS & DIET: Meals are prepared every day from freshly bought ingredients of the Amazon region. Special dietary requirements are taken into account as far as possible. Once on board you will be able to speak to our chef personally.
PAYMENTS: Personal expenses are paid for at the end of the voyage in US dollar cash or by credit card. It is not possible to exchange foreign currency on board.
POWER SUPPLY: You will find 110-V connections in your cabin. When the current generator is running, it is 220 V. Please make sure to have both an American plug type A and 220 V European plug adaptor.
TIPS/GRATUITIES: Tips are already included in the voyage price. An additional recognition of particularly good service is left to each guest.
