John was born in the UK and studied botany and microbiology at London University. He worked in many countries around the globe, before he moved to Manaus. In Brazil, John worked for the National Institute for Amazonian Research, and later embarked on his career as a naturalist and lecturer. He is also an inspiring and wonderful musician.

Lucia Weber was born in Germany and worked as a nurse in emergency rooms. One day she got the travel bug and left Germany to see the world. In Brazil she fell in love with the Nature and Wildlife of the Amazon. She loves to share her experience with her guests aboard expedition vessels. Lucia speaks fluent German, English and Portuguese.

Ma Ziyu, a native of southwest China’s Sichuan Province. He traveled from the subtropical forests of Yunnan to the snowy peaks of the Himalayas, to the Amazon River, both Polar regions, the Arctic, Antarctica and to the geographic North Pole. After getting a Master of Science degree in forest ecology from the University of Washington, Seattle, Ma became a popular science editor/writer based in Beijing, while he also prepared research projects for a PhD study.

Artem is Russian, but he can also speak Chinese, some German and Spanish. Originating from Lake Baikal area of Siberia, he took his PhD in History and also worked for three years in Germany. Prior to joining the company Artem worked for a couple of years as expedition guide in the Arctic and Antarctic . While on board he will be happy to provide you the best services as a guide and share his passion for the remote and exotic places.

Sabine has spent more than 20 years working aboard cruise and expedition ships, exploring the world as a Cruise Director, Lecturer and Expedition Guide. Over the years, she has made the world her home. Sabine is passionate about sharing her knowledge and experiences with her guests, ensuring that every journey becomes a truly memorable and enriching experience.
