Amazon expeditions was founded by Jan Bryde in 2004 and is based in Germany.

Jan Bryde has been working since 1994 as Expedition Leader and Cruise Director aboard expedition vessels, ocean liners and river cruises.

While this time he travelled to more than 125 countries, not only to the classical cruise destinations, but also to remote places beyond the touristical paths.

In the late 90s he traveled extensively the Amazon river and into its sidearms and canals. He fell in love with the remoteness of the tropical rainforest, its abundant wildlife and the indigenous Indio culture.

In 2004 he partnered up with a renowned expert and shipowner in Manaus. Since then he offers comfortable and adventurous river cruises for small groups of maximum 20 passengers aboard upgraded Amazonian Gaiolas. The expedition style voyages are focused on the pure tropical experience and the pristine beauty of the Amazon.
