Arrival from abroad in Manaus. Meet & Greet by the local representative. Transfer to a 4* Hotel in the city center of Manaus. Check In and first introduction to the program.
Today is the day where we start our expedition. Our floating home is already waiting at the pier.
After embarkation we are welcomed by the Captain and Amazon expert Moacir „Captain Mo“ and/or his son Junior.
After a first briefing and information about our itinerary we leave downstream to encounter the “wedding of the waters”, where the tea colored waters of the Rio Negro share the same channel with the brownish waters of the Solimoes without mixing for more than 9 kilometres, as they join the main Amazon River.
Its time to make our way upstream the Solimoes river. We will be cruising all afternoon and night.
Today we ́ll explore the area of the Bedajos River. This is a place with the largest number of rubber trees. We ́ll visit some of those places and we ́ll see how people tap and smoke them to send to the factories in Manaus.
We are in front of the town of Tefé, the old village of Ega, where the very famous naturalist, Bates lived for many years, a hundred and fifty years ago and described this area so well. We are behind some islands where we dedicate our time seeing sloths and monkeys. That is the best palace on the whole Solimões for this activity.
During the next days we will be in the area of Coari, our captain ́s birthplace. This is really the best town in the whole area. We ́ll explore the lake behind the town and enjoy a nice refreshing time on the Jurupari Beach.
Our voyage continues downstream to the village of Anori. This is a very good place to see the beautiful water lilies and other aquatic plants. We take our time to visit the floating town of Anamã.
On our way down the Solimoes there will be time for talks with our Captain, who will introduce us to his life in the Amazon and share some of his endless stories.
We will return to the busy and vivid harbor of Manaus for a guided city tour through the Amazonic metropole Manaus. We visit the most important landmarks such as the Opera house Teatro Amazonico, the local Fresh food Market and the Cathedral of Manaus. We continue our voyage upstream the Rio Negro, leaving the busy metropolis of Manaus behind.
Early morning birding tour at the small river of Pagodao. Sense being in the real jungle. Enjoy a cool, refreshing swim in the safe waters of the Rio Negro.
Look out for dolphins, the Rio Negro give quite good opportunities to see them. We motor up the Rio Cuieras to observe another kind of forest, the campinha, with scrubby trees, terrestrial orchids and bromelias, and lichens growing on the white sand.
Enjoy a special arranged BBQ on one of the sandy beaches by a large firelight. This night you may choose sleeping in a typical hammock in a covered shelter on shore.
We continue to travel up the Rio Cuieras, passing small side stream sand waterfalls. During the day we will take a closer look to local caboclo families that will give us an opportunity to learn about their lives in the Amazon jungle. Depending on the weather tonight, we will look out for the southern cross and other constellations of the Southern Hemisphere.
The next 2 days we will be into the four hundred island district of Anavilhanas. This is one of the largest fluvial archipelagos in the world. The area is known for the abundance of birds such as toucans, parrots and macaws.
We take you on canoe rides among the islands for seeing birds and other animals. An evening canoe exploration allows us to seek nocturnal life. Also visit of Novo Airao, the town where the typical Amazon ships are being built.
On our return to Manaus, we will visit the rubber tree museum Serengau Villa Paraiso where we will be able to get a glimpse into the life of the rubber barons in the 19th century. We continue to Aldeia Tupé, visiting the Dessana tribe indigenous indians, who will perform a traditional dance celebration for us.
Back in Manaus, we invite you for a farewell dinner at the very typical Brazilian Restaurant, the Churrascaria Buffalo. Enjoy your last night aboard our floating home.
Transfer to the airport and flight departures. End of program.

Facilities on board:
BRIDGE: You are welcome to visit the bridge at anytime unless notified otherwise. You might even be offered to steer the vessel for a while…!
CABINS: There are twelve cosy, outside facing cabins each with a large window. The beds are bunk beds, with the lower bunk in some cabins being a double. All cabins are air-conditioned and have a private bathroom with a hair dryer.
DAILY PROGRAM/ LANDINGS: Information about daytime activities and general information will be discussed during our recap on the sun deck. It will
also be written on the “white board” and changes will be announced. There will be some lovely walks through small villages and in the jungle.
DINING & BAR: All meals are served in the Rainbow Restaurant or on the Sun Deck. There is a bar on board with a selection of spirits, wines and local beer.
INTERNET/WIFI/TELEPHONE: The vessel does not have Internet or WIFI facilities. GSM network connection is good in most areas of the Rio Solimões.
Once on the Rio Negro, there is almost no telephone connection. The only phone connection is in the city of Novo Airao. Please inform your friends and family.
LAUNDRY: There is a free laundry service on board.
LIBRARY: The on board library has a small selection of guides, picture books and reference books.
MEALS & DIET: Meals are prepared every day from freshly bought ingredients of the Amazon region. Special dietary requirements are taken into account as far as possible. Once on board you will be able to speak to our chef personally.
PAYMENTS: Personal expenses are paid for at the end of the voyage in US dollar cash or by credit card. It is not possible to exchange foreign currency on board.
POWER SUPPLY: You will find 110-V connections in your cabin. When the current generator is running, it is 220 V. Please make sure to have both an American plug type A and 220 V European plug adaptor.
TIPS/GRATUITIES: Tips are already included in the voyage price. An additional recognition of particularly good service is left to each guest.
